These terms apply to your use of centuryname.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.

What this site is

centuryname.com is an information and showcase site for a portfolio of domain names. Purchases do not happen here. Names are bought on the storefront at domains.centuryname.com, operated by Atom.com, or through Escrow.com or Afternic where offered. Those transactions are governed by the relevant provider's terms in addition to these.

Listings, prices and availability

We work to keep names, prices and descriptions on this site accurate, but the storefront is the authoritative source. Prices change, names sell, and a name shown here may no longer be available. Where this site and the storefront disagree, the storefront governs. Nothing on this site is a binding offer to sell at a stated price.

Descriptions and suggested uses

Where we describe what a name might suit — a category, an industry, a type of product — that is our opinion, offered to help you think, not a representation about commercial performance. We make no promise that any name will generate traffic, rankings, revenue or brand recognition.

Trademarks and your own diligence

Domain rights and trademark rights are separate things. Owning a domain does not grant you trademark rights, and it does not guarantee that using the name will not infringe someone else's rights in your industry or territory. We screen for obvious conflicts before listing, but that screening is not a legal clearance and must not be relied on as one. Before building a brand on any name, do your own trademark search or take legal advice. You are responsible for how you use a name you buy.

Transfers and Fast Transfer

Most names in the portfolio are enrolled in Afternic Fast Transfer. On those names the domain is pushed into your registrar account as soon as payment clears, usually within minutes.

Two qualifications apply, and we would rather state them here than surprise you:

• Verification checks. Afternic runs fraud and account-verification checks on some orders. Where a check is triggered, delivery can take several hours rather than minutes. This is the platform's process and is outside our control.
• Names not on Fast Transfer. A minority of names transfer by the standard process, which typically completes within a few business days depending on the registrars involved and any authorisation steps your own account requires.

Where a purchase is completed through Escrow.com, Atom or Spaceship rather than Afternic Fast Transfer, that platform's own timeline and release conditions apply.

Delays caused by registrars, verification requirements, or the buyer's own account setup are outside our control. We will help chase anything that stalls.

Lease to own and rentals

Where a name is offered on a lease-to-own plan, you may use the name during the plan and ownership transfers to you when the final payment clears. Missed payments may suspend use of the name under the platform's terms. Where a name is offered on a monthly rental, you hold a licence to use it for the rental period only; no ownership transfers, and the arrangement ends when the rental does. The exact terms for any plan are those shown by the platform handling it at the point of purchase.

Escrow and funds

CenturyName does not take or hold buyer funds. Every sale is completed through a third-party escrow or marketplace platform — Atom.com, Afternic, Escrow.com or Spaceship — each of which applies its own terms, dispute process and buyer protections. Not every option is available on every name; the listing governs.

Our content

The text, design, layout and code of this site belong to CenturyName. You may read it, link to it, and quote it with attribution. You may not copy the site wholesale or reproduce substantial parts of it for a competing service.

Links out

We link to third-party sites, including the storefront and checkout providers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.

Availability

The site is provided as-is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw any part of it without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CenturyName's total liability arising out of or relating to your use of this website is limited to CAD $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. This clause concerns the website; liability relating to a domain purchase is governed by the terms of the platform on which that purchase was made.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable rights you have as a consumer in your own country.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page reflects the current version, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.
